The Fiik Big Daddy RC Electric Skateboard is unlike any other electric skateboard we have reviewed here yet. This is the first electric board exclusively designed for off roading as evident by the big tires and rugged frame.
FiiK stands for future in knowledge and is a large company that makes small longboards and skateboards but is best known for their unique electric skateboards.
Initially interested in mountainboards(see our top mountainboard here), the two founders of the company saw the potential of creating an electric skateboard modeled after a mountainboard. And the Fiik Big Daddy electric skateboard was born.
The Board Setup
Instead of a smooth and slim look like the Yuneec E-Go or from Boosted electric skateboards, the Fiik Big Daddy instantly gets in your face with its big tires and deck. This is an electric skateboard meant to go offroad and it sure looks like it.

The Fiik Big Daddy was made based off of smooth pintail skateboard deck with a kicktail at one end. The deck is made out of maple providing a strong surface to put your feet on and features a deep concave to lean into during turns.
The custom designed aluminum trucks and wheels are where this off road electric skateboard really shines though. The wheel rims are made out of aluminum so they can take any punishment from the road and not bend.
The wheels feature a 10.4” diameter which gives the board plenty of clearance to ride over bumps, roots, or other obstructions in the road. This tires are pressurized just enough to grip the ground while also isolating the rider from the vibrations of the road.
To aid in traveling through mud, grass, and general off roading, the tires feature a knobby design which grips the road and enables the Fiik Big Daddy to travel up muddy hills quickly and easily.
Technical Specifications
The Fiik Big Daddy comes with only one 800W motor which powers the board up and down hills and across all types of terrain. A standard lithium polymer battery is used to power the motor.
Although the Big Daddy is heavy, it has an impressive top speed of 22 mph across off-roading terrain such as sand and grass and a range of 15 miles.

This is definitely not a board you want to carry around but with a range of 15 miles you should not have to. The range provides more than enough for you to take this board out on the beach, ride to your favorite surf spot on the sand, and come back all without charging the battery.
To extend the range even further, the Fiik Big daddy electric skateboard incorporates regenerative braking into its setup. While this may not extend the battery life significantly, it is a nice feature to get more out of the power on your electric skateboard.
Total charging time for the Big Daddy is between 4 to 5 hours but which such a large range and high top speed, riders will be able to ride this board all day and then charge it at night.
The Controller
The Fiik Big Daddy electric skateboard is controlled by a pistol like grip controller shown to the side. It reminds us of the pistol controllers used to control the small remote control cars we played with as kids.
In essence this controller functions the same way. You pull the trigger with your index finger and the harder you pull the faster the board goes. As you release pressure on the trigger, you start coasting. To activate the braking, push the trigger away from you.
The controller comes standard with a three speed selector which restricts your top speed depending on which setting. The settings are creatively named High, Medium, and Low with the High setting allowing riders to hit the max speed of 22 mph.
It is worth noting that you must set this three speed switch before turning on and riding the Big Daddy electric skateboard. This is to prevent accidental pushing of the switch and allowing the board to come out from underneath you.
Who should buy the Fiik Big Daddy Electric Skateboard?
As you’ve seen from the design of the board and this article, the Fiik Big Daddy electric skateboard is mainly used for offroading. One customer remarked that he uses it in a park to get to hunting spots where no gas powered vehicles are allowed.

Other buyers use it on walking trails, to cruise around on the beach, and to simply ride where other skateboards can’t. It’s worth thinking about this board as a much better mountainboard that you never have to push.
