Traditionally one of the less recognized longboard brands, Yocaher Longboards has quickly made a name for themselves since their inception. Initially, Yocaher longboards started out selling skateboards of all different qualities from entry level to pro models. As longboarding grew to popularity, Yocaher slowly started shifting their focus to longboards primarily aiming at the entry-level market.
Origin Story
Yocaher longboards was started in Los Angeles, California which is pretty much the location where longboarding as a whole started. Yocaher started in 2001 but in the skateboard market. In the past 5 years, however, they have slowly entered the longboard market.
Target Market: Yocaher Longboards
Their primary philosophy is to provide low-cost boards without sacrificing quality. While typically Yocaher Longboards will not be the best longboards on the market, they make perfect longboards for beginners who don’t want to spend too much money at a start.
As Yocaher longboards are typically for beginners, they primarily focus on three types of boards: carving, cruising, and downhill. To that end, they offer a variety of different deck shapes including pintails, drop down decks, and drop through boards.
Nearly all of Yocaher longboards are made out of Canadian maple which can be flexible depending on how many layers or plies it has. Generally speaking, 9 ply Canadian maple is very stiff and keeps the entire board steady. Lesser plies are more flexible but seeing as maple is still a stiff wood, none of the longboards that Yocaher offers will be as flexible as a bamboo board such as the Loaded Vanguard.

Punked Lowrider Drop down through Longboard Complete skateboard

The Punked Lowrider drop down longboard was made by Yocaher to compete in the entry-level downhill longboard market. The deck is made out of Canadian maple and has a slight W shape which means that the ends of the board are higher than the middle. This deck design provides stability to the rider by creating a cradly for them.
The trucks measure 9.675” across and are made out of an aluminum alloy. Because of the wheel cutouts on the deck, one nice thing about this Yocaher longboard is that wheel bite will not be an issue.
The Yocaher Punked lowrider is ideal for downhill riders but also for commuters. The low distance from the ground to the deck makes it easier for riders to push this board for longer.

The Yocaher Speed Drop Down has been long been a beginner’s first board. And that is primarily how this board has gotten so popular. With its combination of low price, vibrant graphics, and stable riding, this board is perfect for any beginners looking to get into longboarding.
Made out of 9 ply maple, this board has absolutely no flex and feels incredibly sturdy when you stand on it. It comes fully assembled with grip tape on it to help secure riders feet to the board.
While Yocaher says that this board is aimed at professional riders, I personally disagree. In fact, I think it’s the exact opposite, and this is the perfect board for beginners who have never even stepped on a longboard before.

Aimed at commuters and cruisers, this longboard features a pintail shape. This deck is made out of 7 ply maple which gives the board a little flex when you stand on it and push. Overall the deck measures 40 inches from end to end which is long for a pintail board. When riding it, however, the deck length seems to fit the board’s style perfectly.
The main advantage of the Yocaher pintail shape is that it allows the longboard to turn quicker and easier. During testing, this longboard was easily able to ride and quickly go around pedestrians on the sidewalk.
With the maneuverability of the deck, the Yocaher Punked Kicktail longboard is ideal for beginners looking for a cheap longboard to get around from place to place or to start learning how to carve. This board is super responsive which makes it ideal for beginners.
Yocaher Professional Speed Drop Through

While very similar to the Yocaher speed drop down, this longboard has trucks which go through the deck. This truck configuration is called drop through trucks and that’s how this longboard got its name.
My first longboard was an Atom drop through and it’s true that this design has a number of advantages for beginner riders. The drop through trucks improve stability like the drop down trucks but also allow the longboard to pick up speed quickly. It’s like the perfect mix between stability and speed.
The Speed Drop through is made out of 9 ply maple and has little to no flex. Because of the wheel cutouts, wheel bite should not be a major problem with this board.
The Yocaher Speed Drop Through is ideal for beginners looking to get into downhill. Because of this longboards length and drop through trucks, this board will be able to pick up speed rapidly while also preventing speed wobbles.
